The jets are out of options and sitting at 2-6 this coming game against the Texans is their final straw to even pretend they have a chance at making it into the playoffs. Reviewing the Jets season it has been a systematic failure and every time they hit the “break glass in case of emergency button” it fails in a spectacular manner. The first time they pressed the button it was to fire their scapegoat of a coach in Robert Saleh, a move that Aaron Rodgers has “nothing” to do with. This move has done nothing but thrust the former defense coordinator Jeff Ulbrich into a position he clearly is not ready for and subsequently hurt the defensive performance, I mean Russell Wilson lit them up in his first game as a Steeler. The next lever pulled was to trade for Aarons best friend and disgruntled Raider’s star Davante Adams. Adams has been a non-factor for the Jets and aside from the greatest speech given (that amounted to nothing) following a loss to the Steelers this trade has been nothing but a poison pill of hope for the Jets ever since he popped up with Rodgers on the Pat McAfee show. The third desperation heave the Jets have made is to bring back disgruntled defensive star Haasan Reddick in a move that did nothing to improve the defense. It actually did the opposite as Jacoby Brissett was able to lead his team on a game winning drive in a season they are actively trying to lose games in. This is the ultimate sign that this team is cooked. Headed into Thursday night we finally get to see the their final attempt to salvage a lost season, bring out the “new’ uniforms. The Jets unveiled their all-black uniforms they will be wearing against the Texans in a game they should be competitive in. The Texans have struggled offensively and the loss of Diggs for the year will not improve anything for them. If the Jets are able to make anything of this season and be featured throughout the season in the “In the Hunt” graphic then they must win tonight. The reality is they probably will not win but lucky for New Yorkers their Yankees finally won a game in the World Series.
